Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832), head-and-shoulders by Agostino Aglio was sold in the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction at Christies in London in March 2004. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,493.75 (€ 2,236.01), 24% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Agostino Aglio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A group of stone pines near Tivoli, seen from Villa Adriana in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 15,062.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832), head-and-shoulders von Agostino Aglio wurde im März 2004 in der Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.493,75 (€ 2.236,01) und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Agostino Aglio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A group of stone pines near Tivoli, seen from Villa Adriana im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 15.062,68).
