Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Flood (Gulf War) by Afifa Aleiby was sold in the Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in October 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,096.14). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Afifa Aleiby - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Loneliness, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,797.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Flood (Gulf War) von Afifa Aleiby wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.096,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Afifa Aleiby mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Loneliness beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 34.797,85) versteigert wurde.
