This artwork by Affandi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. In the Modern Art Evening Sale auction, the work The Fisherman sold for HKD 6,225,000.00 (€ 692,445.03) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 3,500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Affandi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Borobudur And The Sun sold at auction in October 2016 with the realized price of HKD 9,800,000.00 (€ 1,153,256.70).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Affandi erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit The Fisherman für HKD 6.225.000,00 (€ 692.445,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 3.500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Affandi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Borobudur And The Sun im Oktober 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 9.800.000,00 (€ 1.153.256,70).
