Auction result misses estimated price range
In November last year a collector was able to acquire the work Self-Portrait by Affandi for HKD 2,800,000.00 (€ 347,457.13). This price was achieved in the auction 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 2,900,000.00 – 5,900,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Affandi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Borobudur And The Sun, which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 9,800,000.00 (€ 1,153,256.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Affandi für HKD 2.800.000,00 (€ 347.457,13) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 2.900.000,00 – 5.900.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Affandi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Borobudur And The Sun beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 9.800.000,00 (€ 1.153.256,70) versteigert wurde.
