Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) / Contemporaries: Voices from East and West (Evening Sale), which included the work Market Scene by Affandi. The price achieved of HKD 3,220,000.00 (€ 351,799.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,500,000.00 – 3,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Affandi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Borobudur And The Sun, which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 9,800,000.00 (€ 1,153,256.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) / Contemporaries: Voices from East and West (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Market Scene von Affandi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 3.220.000,00 (€ 351.799,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 2.500.000,00 – 3.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Affandi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Borobudur And The Sun beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 9.800.000,00 (€ 1.153.256,70) versteigert wurde.
