Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Affandi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Cockfight sold for HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 301,985.42) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Affandi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Borobudur And The Sun, which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 9,800,000.00 (€ 1,153,256.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Affandi erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Cockfight für HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 301.985,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Affandi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Borobudur And The Sun beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 9.800.000,00 (€ 1.153.256,70) versteigert wurde.
