Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Esther And Mordecai by Aelbert Jansz. van der Schoor was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 43,750.00 (€ 33,450.57). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aelbert Jansz. van der Schoor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Allegory of Youth And Old Age: A Lady Offering Flowers To A Young Woman, With An Elderly Lady Beyond, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 54,500.00 (€ 69,479.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Esther And Mordecai von Aelbert Jansz. van der Schoor im Februar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 43.750,00 (€ 33.450,57) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Aelbert Jansz. van der Schoor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Allegory of Youth And Old Age: A Lady Offering Flowers To A Young Woman, With An Elderly Lady Beyond beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 54.500,00 (€ 69.479,80) versteigert wurde.
