Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Adrien Dauzats could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Old Master Paintings auction, the work Jerusalem, a view of the city walls with the Gate of Jaffa and the Tower of David changed hands for USD 17,925.00 (€ 16,691.50) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Other works by Adrien Dauzats have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2009 by the work French A Street Scene In Old Cairo Near The Ibn Tulun Mosque at USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,278.41).
