Despite a disappointment, a good price for Adrian Wiszniewski
When the work Baptism By Fire by Adrian Wiszniewski was auctioned at Sothebys in London in August 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,890.14). Despite this disappointing result, Baptism By Fire is the most expensive artwork by Adrian Wiszniewski that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit Baptism By Fire von Adrian Wiszniewski im August 2008 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.890,14) den Besitzer.
