In the Christie's Interiors - Masters & Makers auction, the work Peasants smoking and drinking with children making music and an old woman in an interior sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,774.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Adriaen Rombouts; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Peasants Smoking And Drinking With Children Making Music And An Old Woman In An Interior sold at auction in November 2005 with the realized price of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,699.22).
