In the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work Winter Landscape With Elegant Figures On The Ice Before A Town sold for GBP 290,500.00 (€ 366,411.84) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Adriaen van de Venne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Winter Landscape With Figures Skating On A Frozen River, Prince Maurits Of Orange-Nassau With A Hunting Party In The Foreground in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,308,000.00 (€ 1,942,681.93).
