Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wat Maeckmen Al Om Gelt ("What One Does For Money") by Adriaen van de Venne was sold in the The Weldon Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2015. It changed hands for a price of USD 143,750.00 (€ 128,785.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen van de Venne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Winter Landscape With Figures Skating On A Frozen River, Prince Maurits Of Orange-Nassau With A Hunting Party In The Foreground in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,308,000.00 (€ 1,942,681.93).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Figures Skating On A Frozen River, Prince Maurits Of Orange-Nassau With A Hunting Party In The Foreground im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.308.000,00 (€ 1.942.681,93).
