Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art, which included the work Le Soir Aux Environs De Rix by Adolphe Appian. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,001.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adolphe Appian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Plage De Collioure, which sold at auction in November 2015 for EUR 26,000.00.
