Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Untitled (the masked man), double sided, 1920 by Adolf Wölfli. The price achieved of USD 40,000.00 (€ 34,922.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolf Wölfli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Der San Salvathor in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 795,000.00 (€ 701,553.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (the masked man), double sided, 1920 von Adolf Wölfli zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 34.922,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolf Wölfli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Der San Salvathor im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 795.000,00 (€ 701.553,12).
