Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Russian Icons and Pictures Including works by Non-Conformist Artists, which included the work The Siberian gold convoy by Konstantin Stoilov. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,751.62). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Konstantin Stoilov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Russian Caravan racing in the Snow, which sold at auction in October 2004 for USD 28,680.00 (€ 22,501.18).
