Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction The Orientalist Sale, which included the work The Merchant of Arms by Addison Thomas Millar. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 22,680.00 (€ 26,889.69). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Addison Thomas Millar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Inspecting the Sword, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 88,200.00 (€ 104,493.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Merchant of Arms von Addison Thomas Millar zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 22.680,00 (€ 26.889,69) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Addison Thomas Millar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Inspecting the Sword beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 88.200,00 (€ 104.493,18) versteigert wurde.
