Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Addison Thomas Millar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2018. In the The Orientalist Sale auction, the work Americanan Eastern Shop sold for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,472.34) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Addison Thomas Millar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Inspecting the Sword, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 88,200.00 (€ 104,493.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Addison Thomas Millar erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Orientalist Sale wurde die Arbeit Americanan Eastern Shop für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.472,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Addison Thomas Millar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Inspecting the Sword beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 88.200,00 (€ 104.493,18) versteigert wurde.
