Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rug Merchant by Addison Thomas Millar was sold in the American Paintings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in June 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,112.50 (€ 4,853.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Addison Thomas Millar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Inspecting the Sword in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 88,200.00 (€ 104,493.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rug Merchant von Addison Thomas Millar wurde im Juni 2001 in der Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.112,50 (€ 4.853,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
