Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Panoramic View Of Arnhem Seen From The North by Adam Frans van der Meulen for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,691.24). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Adam Frans van der Meulen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The meeting between Kings Philip IV and Louis XIV on Pheasants Island in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 226,000.00 (€ 242,281.30).
