Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study Of Louis Xiv And Vicomte De Turenne For La Prise De Lille by Adam Frans van der Meulen was sold in the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2017. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,671.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam Frans van der Meulen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The meeting between Kings Philip IV and Louis XIV on Pheasants Island in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 226,000.00 (€ 242,281.30).
