Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Achille Etna Michallon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January last year. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper auction, the work A road between walls, with a forest behind sold for USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,933.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Achille Etna Michallon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Valley In The Alban Hills With Travelers On A Road, A View of The Chigi Palace And Santa Maria Dell'Assunta Beyond in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 132,000.00 (€ 104,562.74).

In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit A road between walls, with a forest behind für USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.933,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Achille Etna Michallon erzielen.
