Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work Les Arbres, Côte de Grâce, Honfleur 32 x 25 3/4 in. (81.0 x 65.5 cm) framed 40 x 33 1/2 x 2 1/2 in. by Othon Friesz for USD 6,375.00 (€ 5,863.69). This price was achieved in the auction European Art | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Othon Friesz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Ciotat in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 212,750.00 (€ 337,234.94).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion European Art | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Othon Friesz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Ciotat im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 212.750,00 (€ 337.234,94).
