Auction result misses estimated price range

When this work without title by Abrar Ahmed was auctioned at Bonhams in London in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 318.75 (€ 374.98). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abrar Ahmed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May last year for GBP 892.50 (€ 1,049.94).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Abrar Ahmed im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 318,75 (€ 374,98) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Abrar Ahmed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für GBP 892,50 (€ 1.049,94) versteigert wurde.
