Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Virgin and Child, with Saints Roch and Sebastian, a donor (?) and an angel and putti by Abraham van Diepenbeeck was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna auction at Christies in New York in January 2020. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,268.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Abraham van Diepenbeeck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Die Rettung des Heiligen Paulus nach dem Schiffbruch. in March 2019 with an auction result of CHF 72,500.00 (€ 64,816.08).
