Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Diana At Her Bath by Abraham van Cuylenborch for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,703.68). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham van Cuylenborch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In einer Grotte badende Nymphen. 1641. in March 2006 with an auction result of CHF 66,000.00 (€ 41,740.01).
