In May 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work Peasants eating and drinking in an interior by Abraham Teniers. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,625.00 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Abraham Teniers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Monkeys Smoking, Drinking And Preparing A Meal In A Kitchen in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 105,501.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peasants eating and drinking in an interior von Abraham Teniers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 10.625,00 und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abraham Teniers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Monkeys Smoking, Drinking And Preparing A Meal In A Kitchen im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 105.501,89).
