In the Important Gold Boxes, Objects of Vertu and Portrait auction, the work A young lady, facing left in open pink day-gown with open white underslip, her brown hair falling in a curl over her right shoulder sold for GBP 1,553.50 (€ 2,384.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abraham Seaman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Lt. General William Hargrave sold at auction in April 2010 with the realized price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,027.82).
