Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction The Library of Henry Rogers Broughton, 2nd Baron Fairhaven Part I, which included the work Phytographia curiosa, Amsterdam, 1702, contemporary calf by Abraham Munting. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,634.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Munting achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Naauwkeurige Beschryving des Aardgewassen, Leiden, 1696, red morocco gilt in May last year with an auction result of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 118,581.60).
