Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Evening Sale, which included the work Allegory Of Spring by Abraham Janssens II. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 62,315.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham Janssens II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flora, which sold at auction in February 2018 for USD 175,000.00 (€ 143,313.41).
