Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A bird's nest with green eggs on a sandy bank; and A bird's nest with white speckled eggs on a sandy bank by Abel Hold was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 137.50 (€ 174.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abel Hold achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape with Cows and Peasants in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 14,100.00 (€ 15,148.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A bird's nest with green eggs on a sandy bank; and A bird's nest with white speckled eggs on a sandy bank von Abel Hold im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 137,50 (€ 174,70) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abel Hold erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape with Cows and Peasants im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.100,00 (€ 15.148,26).
