Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work The Month Of August by Abel Grimmer. It changed hands for a price of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,573.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abel Grimmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dix mois de l'année in November last year with an auction result of EUR 1,538,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Month Of August von Abel Grimmer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.573,99) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abel Grimmer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dix mois de l'année im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.538.400,00.
