Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Interior Of Antwerp Cathedral, With Figures Worshipping And Promenading by Abel Grimmer for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 84,091.49). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Day Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abel Grimmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dix mois de l'année in November last year with an auction result of EUR 1,538,400.00.
