Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work A village landscape with Christ and the Centurion by Abel Grimmer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 266,500.00 (€ 316,659.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Abel Grimmer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dix mois de l'année in November last year with an auction result of EUR 1,538,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A village landscape with Christ and the Centurion von Abel Grimmer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 266.500,00 (€ 316.659,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abel Grimmer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dix mois de l'année im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.538.400,00.
