Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2011 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art, which included the work Portrait of Fateh Moudarres by Abdullatif Al-Smoudi. The price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 42,169.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abdullatif Al-Smoudi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Soul of the East, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 133,000.00 (€ 91,927.01).
