In December last year Bonhams held the auction The Gift of Photographs, which included the work Chicago #32 and Chicago #42 2 by Aaron Siskind. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,383.62), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aaron Siskind achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Terrors and Pleasures of Levitation in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 69,007.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Gift of Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chicago #32 and Chicago #42 2 von Aaron Siskind zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.383,62) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aaron Siskind erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Terrors and Pleasures of Levitation im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 69.007,98).
