Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Morning mist at mountain top by Zhuang Zi Man was worth HKD 240,000.00 (€ 23,274.26) to a buyer in November 2006. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Chinese Art at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhuang Zi Man; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lady sold at auction in May 2006 with the realized price of HKD 312,000.00 (€ 31,338.58).
