This artwork by Zhu Xiong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Hong Kong in November 2020. In the The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II auction, the work Potted Calamus, 1854 sold for HKD 40,800.00 (€ 4,405.09) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhu Xiong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers And Birds in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 56,300.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhu Xiong erzielte im November 2020 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II wurde die Arbeit Potted Calamus, 1854 für HKD 40.800,00 (€ 4.405,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhu Xiong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers And Birds im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 56.300,74).
