The work Letters in Running Script by Zhu Ciqi was worth HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,894.91) to a buyer in November 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhu Ciqi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy in Running Script sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of HKD 375,625.00 (€ 42,933.38).
