The work Thirteen-character Calligraphic Couplet in Seal Script by Zhao Shuru was worth HKD 352,800.00 (€ 41,884.93) to a buyer in May last year. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhao Shuru; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cranes At Sunrise sold at auction in October 2018 with the realized price of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 53,485.70).

Die Arbeit Thirteen-character Calligraphic Couplet in Seal Script von Zhao Shuru war einem Käufer im Mai letzten Jahres HKD 352.800,00 (€ 41.884,93) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhao Shuru; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Cranes At Sunrise im Oktober 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 53.485,70).
