The work Calligraphy in Seal Script by Zhao Shuru was sold in the Cultured Legacy: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Chang Shiu Sig and Tung Shui Wah Collection auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 32,760.00 (€ 3,790.71), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhao Shuru achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cranes At Sunrise in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 53,485.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Seal Script von Zhao Shuru wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Cultured Legacy: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Chang Shiu Sig and Tung Shui Wah Collection bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 32.760,00 (€ 3.790,71) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhao Shuru erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cranes At Sunrise im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 53.485,70).
