The work Rock by Zhao Haogong was worth HKD 2,420,000.00 (€ 231,512.67) to a buyer in November 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Rock the most expensive artwork by Zhao Haogong that we have observed at auctions so far.
