Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bird and flowers by Zhang Shaoshi was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 1,107.00 (€ 683.29). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Shaoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 26,005.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bird and flowers von Zhang Shaoshi im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 1.107,00 (€ 683,29) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Shaoshi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 26.005,84).
