Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape of West Lake by Zhang Cai. It changed hands for a price of HKD 295,500.00 (€ 24,327.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 250,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Cai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in September 2016 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 53,390.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape of West Lake von Zhang Cai zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 295.500,00 (€ 24.327,47) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 250.000,00 – 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Cai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im September 2016 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 53.390,28) versteigert wurde.
