Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zarina achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 40,320.00 (€ 34,335.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zarina have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tasbih (Gold) in March last year with an auction result of USD 365,400.00 (€ 329,396.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zarina erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 40.320,00 (€ 34.335,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zarina auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tasbih (Gold) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 365.400,00 (€ 329.396,92).
