This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Zarina have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tasbih (Gold) in March last year with an auction result of USD 365,400.00 (€ 329,396.92).
