The work A Thousand Knots (C.1980S) by Zarina was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in June this year. It achieved a price of GBP 95,650.00 (€ 111,320.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zarina - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tasbih (Gold), which sold at auction in March last year for USD 365,400.00 (€ 329,396.92).

Die Arbeit A Thousand Knots (C.1980S) von Zarina wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 95.650,00 (€ 111.320,13) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 37%. Für andere Arbeiten von Zarina mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tasbih (Gold) beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 365.400,00 (€ 329.396,92) versteigert wurde.
