In June this year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work 1551 Knots by Zarina. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 76,600.00 (€ 89,149.21), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zarina - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tasbih (Gold), which sold at auction in March last year for USD 365,400.00 (€ 329,396.92).

Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit 1551 Knots von Zarina zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 76.600,00 (€ 89.149,21) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Zarina mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tasbih (Gold) beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 365.400,00 (€ 329.396,92) versteigert wurde.
