With a wood storage box inscribed outside Kuchibeni (Lip rouge), inside Hogetsu and sealed Hogetsu

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Yokoo Hogetsu could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in March 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Before the Mirror changed hands for USD 1,020.00 (€ 868.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yokoo Hogetsu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yujo Tagasode (The Courtesan Tagasode) in March 2005 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 27,758.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yokoo Hogetsu konnte im März 2021 bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art wechselte die Arbeit Before the Mirror für USD 1.020,00 (€ 868,60) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yokoo Hogetsu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yujo Tagasode (The Courtesan Tagasode) im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 27.758,50).
