In April this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Making Her Mark: 20th/21st Century Women Artists, which included the work Yellow Pumpkin (Eight Works) by Yayoi Kusama. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 22,680.00 (€ 23,160.72), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Making Her Mark: 20th/21st Century Women Artists durch, in der auch die Arbeit Yellow Pumpkin (Eight Works) von Yayoi Kusama zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 22.680,00 (€ 23.160,72) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
