Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tulipe (I) by Yayoi Kusama was sold in the Contemporary Showcase: Cheer Up! auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2020. It changed hands for a price of HKD 118,750.00 (€ 13,803.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tulipe (I) von Yayoi Kusama wurde im Mai 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Cheer Up! bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 118.750,00 (€ 13.803,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
